Lighting is one of the most important aspects of photography.That is why photographers spend much money on lighting equipments. Proper lighting is the difference between a shot looking great or looking horrible.So with that in mind here are some tips on how to achieve the correct lighting when taking shots.
There are times when artificial lighting equipments may not be used. For example the case of weddings especially an outdoor wedding at day. Usually you will have to work with the natural lighting. As a San Diego photographer I have to deal with this all the time. But it isn’t a bad thing.Utilizing the natural lighting is what determines a photographer if he is great or not. For example overcast days are perfect for great shots.But if the day is sunny then make sure that the light is not against the shot.That way you can utilize the sun and give you a great shot and not ruin it.
Events are another thing that would need lighting. Doing a lot of event photography San Diego has allowed me to see the importance of this.Especially if you would have to take pictures during the night. If you are taking pictures at night you have to use technology to your advantage. Most cameras have night modes so make sure you use them.
Taking corporate shots is another event where lighting is needed.You always want to take crisp photos when you are taking corporate shots.Use of lighting would make you achieve this. I use artificial lighting all the time as a San Diego corporate photographer all the time. This is different then wedding photography because with weddings you have to work with natural lighting.What’s nice about these corporate shots is that they are staged and that way your shots would really look good.
So those are some of the tips about lighting in photography. Remember how important lighting is and you will take great shots.
